    Colt M1911A1 U.S. Army CMP Service Grade .45 ACP, 5-inch, 1944 Parkerized

    This 1944 Colt M1911A1 is a World War II U.S. Army-marked pistol with documented Civilian Marksmanship Program provenance and Service Grade classification. It retains its GI configuration, gray-green parkerized/phosphate finish, and correct military markings, backed by a CMP Certificate of Authenticity dated July 14, 2025. Chambered in .45 ACP with a 5-inch barrel and 7+1 capacity, it presents as a collectible, serviceable example of a wartime Colt.

    Built by Colt in 1944, this M1911A1 carries correct U.S. military markings and proofs, including UNITED STATES PROPERTY and M1911A1 U.S. ARMY rollmarks on the right-side frame, the Ordnance crossed-cannons cartouche at the right-rear of the frame, a P proof on the top of the slide forward of the rear sight, a P on the left side of the frame near the magazine release, and a VP in triangle on the left trigger guard. The slide bears the Colt patent legend with Hartford address, and the barrel is marked "COLT 45 AUTO."

    The pistol is documented as a CMP Service Grade example and includes a CMP Certificate of Authenticity dated July 14, 2025, matching the pistol's serial number. This provenance provides clear, modern documentation of its inspection and classification through the CMP 1911 program.

    It is a full-size, all-steel 1911 platform chambered in .45 ACP, featuring a 5-inch barrel and a 7+1 capacity. The carbon steel frame and slide wear a gray-green parkerized/phosphate finish consistent with wartime production.

    GI-configuration features include vertical rear cocking serrations, fixed GI iron sights with a small staked front blade and a small fixed rear notch, brown checkered GI-type plastic grips, and period-correct controls. Safety features comprise a manual thumb safety, grip safety, and half-cock notch.
