The P239 is a slim, single-stack compact chambered in .357 SIG with a 7+1 capacity. It uses a DA/SA action with a decocker and an external spurred hammer, combining a streamlined profile with classic SIG Sauer controls.
The frame is marked "FRAME MADE IN GERMANY" with "DE" proofing, reflecting production that spanned SIG Sauer Germany and the USA. The case label is dated 16-MAY-2009, and the serial on the frame matches the case label.
Sighting is straightforward and durable with fixed, dovetailed tritium 3-dot night sights. The rear sight is marked "MH3." The installed Crimson Trace Lasergrips provide an additional aiming reference.
The slide wears a matte black Nitron finish, while the aluminum alloy frame has a black hard-coat anodized finish. Dimensions are compact but practical: 3.6 in barrel, 6.6 in overall length, 5.2 in height, 1.20 in width, and approximately 29.5 oz with magazine.
This model was discontinued in 2018. The included factory magazine is stamped "SIG SAUER P239 .357 SIG" and has numbered witness holes.
