Product Description

Springfield Armory M1 Garand .30-06, WWII 10/1942 Receiver, SA 12-57 Barrel, Parkerized, ARL. ORD. Re-Import

This Springfield Armory M1 Garand pairs a World War II-era receiver (October 1942) with a Springfield Armory replacement barrel dated December 1957 and P proof. It is a U.S. military re-import marked "ARL. ORD. ARLINGTON VA," presenting a classic parkerized finish, correct GI iron sights, and a valve-type gas cylinder lock screw for the grenade-launcher gas cutoff.

It remains in standard service configuration for 8-round en-bloc clips, with a hardwood stock and two-piece wooden handguards.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Good condition, showing some signs of prior use and handling.

Bore Condition: Fair - Generally clean, some residue or smudges, slight corrosion.

Bore Fouling: Moderate Fouling - Lead or copper fouling with noticeable buildup.

Bore Rifling: Good Rifling - Intact, well-defined lands and grooves.

Specific Condition Notes: Wear and use are consistent with U.S. military surplus service. The bore would benefit from a dedicated, thorough cleaning.

    What's Included
    • Green web sling (installed)

The receiver dates to October 1942 Springfield Armory production, aligning this rifle with WWII-era manufacture. It is fitted with a Springfield Armory barrel stamped S-A-12-57 and P proofed, indicating an official replacement barrel from December 1957.

Provenance is clear through the ARL. ORD. ARLINGTON VA import mark, identifying it as a re-imported USGI rifle. It retains the valve-type gas cylinder lock screw that functions as a grenade-launcher gas cutoff, a correct service detail for this platform.

The rifle is configured in standard service form for 8-round en-bloc clips. It uses a gas-operated, semi-automatic action with a rotating bolt, chambered in .30-06. Iron sights include a protected blade front and a rear aperture adjustable for windage and elevation.

Furniture consists of a full-length hardwood stock with two-piece wooden handguards. A checkered steel buttplate with trapdoor is present. The metal wears a parkerized finish. Overall length is approximately 43.6 in., with a 24 in. barrel and an approximate weight of 9.5 lb.

A green web sling is installed.
