The pistol uses S&W's TEMPO gas-operated delayed-blowback system paired with an internal-hammer single-action design. Its stainless steel slide and barrel wear a black Armornite finish for corrosion resistance and durability.
Sights include a green fiber-optic front and a square-notch rear for a clear sight picture. The flat-faced trigger provides a consistent press.
Controls include an ambidextrous manual thumb safety and ambidextrous slide stop, plus a reversible magazine release. A Picatinny-style accessory rail is integrated into the dust cover. The slide carries a caution marking indicating the pistol can fire with the magazine removed.
