Colt Single Action Army U.S. Contract Artillery Model, 1st Generation, .45 Colt, 5.5 in Barrel (1887 Antique)
This is a genuine U.S. Army Colt Single Action Army that began service as a cavalry revolver and was later arsenal-converted to the Artillery configuration in the 1890s. It is an antique, 1887-produced, 1st Generation gun chambered in .45 Colt with a 5.5 inch barrel. U.S. military markings are present, including a "U.S." property stamp on the frame, a "P" proof on the cylinder, and a "DFC" inspector mark on the barrel.
The configuration is associated with renewed U.S. service use in the late 19th to early 20th century and is a recognized collectible variant in its own right.
