Made in Italy by F.lli Pietta, this Great Western II series revolver follows the 1873 SAA pattern with steel construction and period-correct details. The frame wears a color case-hardened finish, while the barrel and cylinder are blued. Smooth walnut plow-handle grips complete the classic profile.
The 5.5 in barrel and .45 Colt chambering pair with a six-shot, fluted steel cylinder. Operation is single-action, consistent with the original pattern and the Californian submodel within the Great Western II line.
Sighting is straightforward and durable, using a fixed blade front and a topstrap groove rear. The revolver also features a crescent-style ejector-rod head for positive case ejection.
It uses a transverse spring-loaded crosspin base-pin latch (smokeless-frame style) and carries clear markings, including GREAT WESTERN II and 1873 SA - FAP F.LLI PIETTA - MADE IN ITALY, along with the E.M.F. CO. INC. importer mark.
