Izhmash Saiga .223 Rem Semi-Auto Rifle, 16 in Barrel, Pre-Sanctions RAA Import, Desert Tan, TAPCO Adjustable Stock
This Russian-made Izhmash Saiga in .223 Rem is a pre-sanctions RAA import with factory Russian markings and a stamped AK-pattern receiver. It has been partially converted with U.S.-made rear furniture and finished in a uniform desert-tan overcoat. A left-side accessory rail is present, and the rifle comes with an optic mount and a total of four magazines. The bore is clean with excellent rifling, and the 16-inch barrel pairs with classic AK iron sights.

Specific Condition Notes: The entire rifle has a flat, matte desert-tan refinish applied over the metal and polymer components. Numerous surface scratches and blemishes are present. The bore is clean and shiny.

Built by Izhmash in Russia, this Saiga .223 Rem features the Izhmash arrow-in-triangle trademark, Russian proof marks, and the Cyrillic "САЙГА" model marking. It was imported by Russian American Armory Company (RAA) in Scottsburg, Indiana prior to the 2014 sanctions that halted new Russian Kalashnikov Concern firearm imports.
The rifle is configured on a stamped AK-pattern receiver with a 16-inch barrel, protected post front sight, and AK tangent rear sight. A left-side accessory rail is present on the receiver, and the muzzle is currently fitted with a cylindrical device.
It is partially converted with U.S.-made rear furniture, including a TAPCO USA adjustable carbine-style buttstock with adapter and a polymer pistol grip. The stock provides an adjustable length of pull of approximately 11-15 inches and includes a rubber buttpad. The fore-end is the sporter-style polymer type with a ribbed upper handguard and a short underside accessory rail fitted with an angled foregrip.
The rifle operates via a semi-automatic, long-stroke gas piston system with a rotating bolt and uses a paddle-style magazine release. It accepts detachable box magazines for Saiga-pattern .223, and this example comes with one 30-round and three 10-round magazines. The bolt and bolt carrier are marked with the last three digits "949."
An even desert-tan overcoat has been applied across both metal and polymer components, giving the rifle a uniform appearance. The bore is clean with sharp rifling, and the stamped steel receiver wears a matching desert-tan finish.
