The P239 is part of SIG Sauer's Classic P-Series and is configured as a compact, single-stack pistol optimized for the .357 SIG cartridge. It uses a traditional DA/SA, hammer-fired, locked-breech action with a dedicated decocking lever (not DAK), an external spur hammer, and a curved trigger. The dust cover is non-railed, keeping the profile streamlined.
Construction combines a stainless-steel slide with a black exterior finish and a hard-coat anodized aluminum-alloy frame. The 3.6 in barrel, 6.6 in overall length, and weight of approximately 29.5 oz provide a balanced compact footprint. Sighting is via fixed, dovetailed 3-dot sights with a drift-adjustable rear, and the sight radius measures 5.2 in.
The barrel uses six-groove rifling with a 1:16 twist. Capacity is 7+1 in .357 SIG using single-stack magazines. This example includes two factory magazines and retains a clean, mirror-finish bore with sharp lands and grooves.
Markings include SIGARMS INC. EXETER-NH-USA, SIGARMS INC., EXETER-NH, and FRAME MADE IN GERMANY, with country of origin listed as Germany. Within the P239 platform, caliber interchangeability between .357 SIG and .40 S&W is possible via a barrel swap (barrel not included).
