The 4.5F Comp variant uses an integrally compensated, single top-port design paired with a hammer-forged 4.5 inch barrel. The striker-fired, short-recoil/tilting-barrel action delivers a consistent trigger press through a flat-faced trigger with a trigger safety.
The slide is machined from billet steel and finished in black Melonite. It includes front and rear cocking serrations, top-shoulder traction cuts, and an optics cut with a cover plate. Springfield Armory's Variable Interface System (VIS) provides a direct-mount interface, and this pistol includes the Shield-pattern VIS pin set.
At the core is the Central Operating Group (COG), a modular serialized stainless-steel chassis. The black polymer frame features aggressive texturing with interchangeable backstraps and a full-length Picatinny accessory rail.
Controls include a left-only slide stop and an ambidextrous magazine release. Sights are a U-notch rear with a high-visibility front dot. The pistol has a 19+1 capacity and comes with two factory 19-round magazines. Markings include HS PRODUKT — MADE IN CROATIA, reflecting manufacture by HS Produkt in Croatia for Springfield Armory.
