The Echelon 4.0C Comp configuration pairs a compact slide with an integrally compensated, ported 4-inch barrel. A slide port window at the muzzle and matching barrel ports are factory-executed to this model, and the slide wears a durable Black Melonite/nitride finish with front and rear grasping serrations.
Springfield’s VIS optics system is machined into the slide and covered at the factory; this pistol includes the associated mounting hardware set, allowing the buyer to use the cut as intended. The slide also features a striker status indicator.
The black polymer frame provides interchangeable backstraps (two spares included) to tune fit. Controls include bilateral slide-stop levers with a left-side magazine release. A four-slot Picatinny/MIL-STD-1913 accessory rail is molded into the dustcover for lights or other compatible accessories.
Iron sights are a plain black U-notch rear paired with a high-visibility front blade featuring a yellow/green insert for a bright front reference. The pistol uses a striker-fired action with a trigger safety.
Construction details include a removable, serialized stainless Central Operating Group (COG) chassis and a stainless steel receiver, manufactured by HS Produkt in Croatia and imported by Springfield Armory, SI Geneseo, IL. Markings include "HS PRODUKT MADE IN CROATIA" and "SI GENESEO, IL." Capacity is 18+1 with the extended magazine; a 15-round magazine is also provided.
