The SCAR 16S is a short-stroke gas piston semi-automatic chambered in 5.56x45 NATO, here configured with an 18 in threaded barrel and a multi-port flash-suppressing compensator. It retains the monolithic aluminum upper receiver with a polymer lower and wears the factory Flat Dark Earth finish. The upper is Belgian-marked, with FNH USA Columbia SC import information, and the model is marked "SCAR 16S cal. 5.56x45."
Controls and ergonomics are enhanced with a PMM extended bolt-release lever and a Magpul AR-pattern pistol grip in FDE. The factory polymer stock side-folds, telescopes, and offers adjustable length of pull with a rubber buttpad. A right-side charging handle and two-position gas regulator support reliable operation and user tuning.
