The A1 design incorporates an aluminum upper receiver, steel lower, and select titanium components, and is optimized for suppressor use. The receiver is marked "BARRETT FIREARMS MANUFACTURING, INC., MURFREESBORO, TN, U.S.A." and "M107A1."
An integral MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny top rail runs 23 inches with a 27 MOA cant, and factory iron sights (front post and adjustable rear) are mounted on the rail. The ventilated handguard with elongated oval slots aids cooling, and sling provisions are present front and rear.
Support features include an adjustable two-leg perforated steel bipod at the forend and a stock with an integral rear monopod for fine elevation control. An AR-style pistol grip and manual safety round out the controls. Capacity is 10+1 using 10-round magazines, and length of pull is 14.75 inches.
