The Thunder 380 pairs a compact footprint with an aluminum alloy frame in a light gray finish and a two-tone overall look. Its one-piece wraparound black polymer grip with the BERSA logo provides a secure hold, complemented by a pronounced beavertail and a squared, serrated trigger guard.
The DA/SA blowback system uses a fixed barrel, contributing to consistent alignment. Controls include a left-side magazine release, a right-side takedown lever, and an exposed spur hammer. The slide features an external extractor and a slide-mounted safety/decocker with a red index dot.
Safety features are extensive: manual safety/decocker, magazine disconnect, firing pin block, and a key-operated internal lock on the frame marked "F / S." A dedicated key for the integral lock is included.
Sights are a fixed 3-dot set: a front blade with a white dot and a rear notch with two white dots, drift-adjustable for windage. The pistol follows a single-stack design with an 8+1 capacity.
