The Forester series L579 is Sako's medium-length bolt action, and this example was manufactured in Finland in 1969. It uses a 4-round internal magazine with a hinged floorplate, released by a button inside the front of the trigger guard for controlled unloading.
The 23" sporter-profile barrel is roll-marked "Bofors Steel" with B-in-gear symbols, a hallmark found on earlier Sako barrels. Sights include a hooded ramp front and no rear barrel sight, and the receiver has an installed scope mount for optic use.
The walnut Monte Carlo stock includes a right-side cheekpiece, point-pattern checkering on the grip and forend, and a stock crossbolt. Inletted sling studs with detachable loops are fitted, and a Sako-logo hard rubber buttplate with white-line spacer sets the period styling. Length of pull is 13.5".
Markings include Finnish proof and inspection stamps along with the Bofors Steel rollmark. The overall setup reflects Sako's late-1960s sporter configuration, combining clean lines, practical features, and quality materials.
