The 527 American uses a controlled-round-feed mini-Mauser action with an external claw extractor and a polished, turned-down bolt handle. Feeding is via a detachable box magazine, providing a 5+1 capacity in .22 Hornet.
The 22-inch steel barrel is a sporter profile with a crowned, unthreaded muzzle for a clean field-ready configuration. There are no factory iron sights. The blued steel receiver features an integral dovetail, and this rifle includes CZ 527-marked 1 inch rings already installed.
The American-pattern stock is hardwood with a walnut finish, straight comb, cut checkering, and sling swivel studs, plus a recoil pad. Length of pull measures 13.75 inches for a comfortable fit on a classic sporter.
