Browning Citori Lightning Grade I 12 Gauge Over/Under, 26 in Barrels, 3 in Chambers, 1988 Japan, SK/SK Extended Chokes
This Browning Citori Lightning Grade I is a Japan-made 12 gauge from 1988 (PP date code) with factory scroll engraving and 26 inch SPECIAL STEEL barrels. It is chambered for 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells and comes set up with extended knurled SK/SK screw-in choke tubes. The stock wears a KICK-EEZ rubber pad with a 12.25 inch length of pull and features a round-knob pistol grip with a neutral grip and slight right-hand cast-off. Matching assembly numbers are present on the barrel flats, forend iron, and forend wood.
Condition
Overall Condition: Good condition, showing some signs of prior use and handling.
Bore Overall Condition: Excellent - Clean, mirror finish, no signs of wear.
Specific Condition Notes: The recoil pad needs replacement; a previously installed recoil reducer left a loose pad fit and a shortened length of pull. Current LOP is 12.25 inches with a KICK-EEZ rubber pad. Barrel fit is tight. There is mild pitting on the breech face and in spots on the receiver and barrels. The bottom firing pin is pitted.
The locking lug will need to be replaced soon. The ejectors are timed.

Made in Japan with the Browning Arms Company Morgan, Utah & Montreal P.Q. - Made in Japan barrel address, this Lightning Grade I carries the PP date code for 1988 production and model code 753 denoting a 12 gauge, 3 inch, Grade 1 Lightning. Proof and inspection marks include SP, NP, and MADE IN JAPAN. The receiver shows factory simple scroll engraving panels over a blued finish.
The 26 inch SPECIAL STEEL barrels are marked "SPECIAL STEEL 12GA - 2 3/4 AND 3 - 26" and feature a ventilated top rib with a single front bead. Chambers are cut for both 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells, and capacity is two. The gun is currently set up with extended knurled SK/SK screw-in choke tubes, a configuration well-suited to close-range, skeet-style targets.
The walnut stock has a round-knob pistol grip with checkering, a neutral grip, and slight right-hand cast-off for natural shouldering. A KICK-EEZ rubber pad is installed, and the length of pull measures 12.25 inches, offering a shortened fit.
Mechanically, it is a break-action over/under with a single trigger and timed ejectors. Matching assembly number "07548" appears on the barrel flats, forend iron, and forend wood, indicating the major components were fit together at the factory.
