The Premier II platform brings Les Baer’s 1911 design to a full-size, 5 inch Government-length configuration in .38 Super. This example uses a traditional bushing barrel and a single-action, short-recoil operated system consistent with the 1911 platform.
The blued steel slide over a matte hard-chrome frame presents a classic two-tone finish, complemented by front and rear slide serrations and a lowered, flared ejection port. Target-focused sights include a dovetailed front sight and a low-mount, fully adjustable rear sight.
Controls and grip geometry include a left-side thumb safety and a beavertail grip safety. The pistol is outfitted with a medium-length, three-hole aluminum trigger and a Commander-style, serrated hammer. Checkered wood grip panels, a checkered front strap, and a flat, checkered mainspring housing provide a secure hold. A lightly beveled magazine well aids magazine changes.
Factory rollmarks and caliber markings are present: the slide is marked "38 SUPER" and "BAER Custom," the barrel hood is marked "BAER 38 SUPER," and the frame is marked "LES BAER CUSTOM • LE CLAIRE IA USA." Made in the USA, this pistol includes two 10-round CobraMag HV magazines and original Les Baer literature and tools.
