The ACR Enhanced configuration pairs a two-position adjustable gas regulator (suppressed/unsuppressed) with a short-stroke piston for reliable semi-automatic operation. Receiver markings read "MODEL—BACR" and "CALIBER—MULTI," and the manufacturer mark is "B.F.I. WINDHAM, ME, U.S.A." The platform uses a multi-lug rotating bolt inside an aluminum upper receiver with polymer lower and stock assemblies.
The 16.5-inch, threaded barrel uses a quick-change system with a captive lock ring and a quick-attach ratchet collar, enabling fast barrel swaps within the ACR’s modular architecture. A continuous MIL-STD-1913 top rail spans the receiver and handguard for mounting optics or accessories as needed.
Controls are fully ambidextrous, including the safety selector, magazine release, and bolt catch. The left-side, forward-mounted charging handle is non-reciprocating and can serve as a forward-assist. The free-floating quad-rail handguard provides four mounting rails for accessories, while the folding polymer backup sights include an elevation-adjustable front and windage-adjustable rear.
The polymer stock folds to the right, telescopes for length of pull, and includes an adjustable cheekpiece, rubber buttpad, and a QD sling socket. An aftermarket Geissele trigger is installed, and the lower integrates a textured pistol grip for consistent handling.
