This Silver Mounted Edition is a limited 1/1000 release from 1978 that recreates the compact Henry Deringer pocket pistol in a matched, presentation-grade pair. The pistols are built on the traditional percussion, single-action, single-shot system with external hammers, true to the original concept and scale.
Each pistol wears a browned octagonal barrel measuring 1 5/8 inches with a decorative wedding band at the breech, highlighted by a gilt band. Locks and hammers are casehardened, and the trigger guards are gilt, complementing the sterling-silver-mounted furniture for a period-correct, high-contrast presentation.
Factory scroll engraving decorates the locks, hammers, mounts, and inlays, adding depth and texture across the metalwork. Inlays are mixed metal: white-metal wedge escutcheons and small ovals, with gilt/yellow-metal side panels and wrist thumbplates, reinforcing the Silver Mounted Edition theme.
Sighting is traditional, with a dovetailed small silver blade front and a simple breech-notch rear. The one-piece hardwood birdshead grips show fine checkering that fits the micro profile while providing a secure, classic handhold.
The set is housed in a gilt-decorated book-form case with a red velvet fitted interior and includes period-style tools and accessories appropriate to the pistols. The consecutive A/B suffix serial numbers confirm the pair as an original, matched cased set from this limited, collector-focused series.
