What’s Included
- Smith & Wesson 9mm Automatic Pistol Model 439/539 instruction and parts sheet
- Two 8-round steel single-stack magazines
The Model 439 is part of Smith & Wesson’s second-generation autos derived from the Model 39 lineage, built in the USA during the 1980s. This example is a full-size, single-stack 9mm with DA/SA operation and an A-prefix serial range consistent with its era.
Its construction pairs a black-finished alloy frame with a blued carbon-steel slide and a 4-inch barrel. Capacity is 8+1, with a rounded trigger guard and a spurred hammer. The slide uses rear serrations only, preserving the classic S&W second-gen profile.
The sighting system includes a serrated ramp front sight that is integral to the slide and a fully adjustable target rear sight with protective wings. This factory setup provides a clear sight picture with precise adjustments at the rear.
Controls include a slide-mounted safety/decocker and a firing pin block. Checkered walnut grip panels with S&W medallions and the S&W monogram on the frame round out the period-correct features.
