Built in the United States for government marksmanship programs, the 82G configuration reflects its training purpose: robust construction, repeatable accuracy, and a straightforward single-shot, bolt-action layout without a magazine well. The receiver and sight/scope blocks are blued steel, while the barrel is left in-the-white/bright steel, and a two-position safety is fitted.
The 25 inch heavy-contour barrel with recessed crown is designed for consistent performance with .22 LR target ammunition. The single-shot action encourages precise shot-to-shot fundamentals, a hallmark of the government training specification.
The walnut target stock features a wide beavertail forend for stable support, a UIT/Anschutz accessory rail for position and rest setup, and a spacer stack with a checkered rubber buttplate. Length of pull is set at 13.5 inches for a solid fit on the line.
Factory target-scope blocks are installed for mounting a target scope, and a front sight block is present with no sight fitted. No rear sight is included, aligning with the rifle’s intended use with precision optics or dedicated target sighting systems.
Markings include the U.S. property stamp associated with the government contract, and examples of this model were later released through the CMP. Typical factory weight is approximately 10.75 lb, offering a steady hold for prone and bench disciplines.
