Its compact 3-inch barrel uses polygonal rifling, and the pistol maintains a clean, streamlined profile with rear-only slide serrations and a beveled muzzle.

The Elite 98 series is the polished-stainless variant of the MK40, built in the USA and noted for its clean lines and premium exterior finish. Both the frame and receiver are stainless steel with a polished stainless color/finish, complemented by wraparound textured black synthetic grips with the K medallion.
The slide is machined from 416 stainless bar stock and features rear serrations only and a beveled muzzle. Sighting is straightforward and durable: a drift-adjustable combat sight set with a dovetailed front dot and a dovetailed Meprolight Tru-Dot rear, with the Meprolight branding visible on the rear unit.
At its core, the MK40 uses a striker-fired, double-action-only, locked-breech system. Safety is built in through a passive striker block, with no external manual safety. The offset feed-ramp contributes to the slim profile, and the single-stack magazine provides a 6+1 capacity in .40 S&W.
The 3-inch barrel employs polygonal rifling with a 1:16 right-hand twist for a compact, efficient package. As a micro-size model, the MK40 Elite 98 balances stainless-steel durability with a streamlined form factor.
