This Cochise Commemorative is part of Colt’s 3rd Generation Blackpowder Signature Series and is limited to 1 of 50, making it a notable factory-marked edition from the 1990s. It is chambered in .44 and configured in classic Dragoon style with a 7.5 inch barrel and six-chamber cylinder.
The revolver is factory engraved with decorative presentation work, including a cylinder engraved with frontier and horseman scenes. Gold inlays highlight running horses on the barrel, a tomahawk and pipe on the barrel lug, a bison on the right recoil shield, and a gold "COCHISE" legend on the barrel lug. The grips are relief-sculpted black with a Cochise portrait motif.
Its finish presents a high-polish blue/black frame and barrel contrasted by a gold-tone plated cylinder, trigger guard, and backstrap. The open-top frame and wedge-retained barrel follow the original Dragoon pattern, with a loading-lever latch beneath the barrel.
Fixed sights. Markings include the top barrel address "ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW-YORK CITY" and "COLT'S PATENT" on the frame. Matching serial numbers are observed on the major components, and the revolver is designated by Colt as a factory-marked commemorative. Manufacturer part number is F1750.
