The MPX operating system is notable: a closed-bolt, short-stroke gas-piston design with a rotating bolt, uncommon in 9mm carbines. This configuration delivers consistent cycling with a design tailored for pistol-caliber use.
The 16-inch hammer-forged barrel is capped with a flash hider. Factory flip-up front and rear iron sights are installed and ready to use.
Controls are fully ambidextrous, including the safety and magazine release. A case deflector is present, and the design omits a forward assist. The two-rod telescoping, collapsible stock mounts to the proprietary MPX rear receiver block (non-1913) for straightforward length adjustment.
The aluminum alloy receiver pairs with a free-float aluminum KeyMod handguard, providing rigidity and accessory mounting options. A continuous top Picatinny rail spans the receiver and handguard, and a scope mount interface is integral.
This USA-made carbine features an Exeter, NH-marked receiver. Capacity is 35+1, and it includes one 35-round SIG Sauer MPX polymer magazine.
