This limited-edition Marine Dragoon Commemorative from the Colt Blackpowder Arms Co. Signature Series features a silver-plated steel barrel and frame with a 24-karat gold-plated cylinder and select small parts. It is built with a one-piece walnut grip and a 7.5-inch round/half-octagon barrel secured by a traditional wedge.
Factory engraving and markings include the backstrap inscription "Semper Fidelis" with a Sam Colt facsimile signature, plus a cylinder roll-engraved with the classic Dragoon battle scene. The barrel is marked "ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW-YORK CITY," and the frame is stamped "COLT'S PATENT."
Mechanical configuration is faithful to the Dragoon pattern: single-action percussion (cap-and-ball) operation, a non-fluted six-shot cylinder, and a Dragoon-style hinged/latched loading lever. Sighting is via a front blade and a rear notch in the hammer.
As a Signature Series reproduction, this piece highlights period-correct construction details like the wedge-retained barrel and appropriate address/patent markings. It is accompanied by the factory-labeled Signature Series box and manual, with matching serial numbers present on multiple parts.
