This convertible Blackhawk provides two chamberings in one platform. The included 9mm Luger cylinder headspaces on the case mouth, so no moon clips are required. Cylinders swap without tools, offering quick changes between .357 Magnum (and .38 Special) and 9mm Luger. A fluted six-shot cylinder is installed, and capacity is six rounds.
Built on an alloy-steel frame with a blued finish, this revolver has a 4.62 in (4⅝ in) barrel and an overall length of 10.50 in. The barrel uses 8-groove rifling with a 1:16 RH twist. Sights are adjustable iron: a ramped front with a serrated face and an adjustable square-notch rear. The ejector rod housing is on the right side with a crescent-style ejector rod button.
Operation is single-action only with Ruger’s transfer-bar safety and a loading-gate interlock. The transfer-bar system allows safe carry with all six chambers loaded. The revolver’s alloy-steel, blued construction extends to the receiver, frame, and cylinder.
Stag-style cream synthetic grip panels with Ruger eagle medallions are installed, and a spare pair of Ruger smooth hardwood grip panels is included. The factory hard plastic case bears a matching end label (catalog BN-34X / model 00308), and the package includes a Ruger factory envelope with a specification label dated 11/23/2005. This example is U.S.-made and corresponds to Ruger model 00308.
