The SIG516 Gen 2 Patrol uses Sig Sauer's adjustable short-stroke piston system with a four-position gas valve. This Gen 2 setup is designed for the 5.56 NATO chambering on the AR-15 platform and includes an ambidextrous safety selector. It is made in the USA.
The 16-inch barrel is hammer-forged and chrome-lined with a 1:7 twist, and it features a threaded muzzle with an A2-style birdcage flash hider. This configuration provides durable bore treatment and standard muzzle device compatibility.
Both the upper and lower receivers are aluminum with a Flat Dark Earth finish. The free-float FDE aluminum handguard has elongated vent slots and a continuous Picatinny top rail. Furniture includes a Magpul MOE Carbine stock in FDE and a black rubberized finger-groove ergonomic pistol grip. Flip-up front and rear sights are installed.
Included extras add immediate utility: an INFORCE rail-mounted weapon light is installed, and a 30-round windowed Magpul PMAG is provided. The rifle ships in the factory SIG Sauer cardboard box with model code R516G2-16B-P-FDE. A black skull graphic on the right magwell gives this example a unique look. The finish pairs FDE receivers and handguard with a matte gray phosphate (parkerized) barrel and black controls.
