This Röhm Mod. RG 23 is a compact .22 LR double-action/single-action revolver from RG Industries' Miami-era production following post-1968 import restrictions. It features a 1.75-inch steel barrel, a six-shot steel cylinder, and a zinc-alloy frame. The frame is marked "MOD. RG 23" over "CAL.

Condition
Overall Condition: Fair condition, showing extensive signs of prior use and handling.
Bore Condition: Good - Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.
Rifling: Good Rifling - Intact, well-defined lands and grooves.
Specific Condition Notes: The revolver shows scratches and scattered blemishes. The ejector is under no tension. Carbon buildup and scorching are present around the forcing cone and on the cylinder face. While rifling is present, it shows visible blemishes.

The RG 23 pairs a steel barrel and cylinder with a zinc-alloy frame to keep weight down while maintaining steel in the pressure-bearing components. It runs in double-action or single-action with an exposed, spurred hammer and a six-shot swing-out cylinder.
Extraction is via a central star extractor, with a front ejector-rod style cylinder release. The top strap is serrated and the sights are fixed, with a blade front and a rear notch in the top strap.
This example is from RG Industries' Miami production period and is marked accordingly on the frame. It reflects the domestic manufacture/assembly practices that followed post-1968 import restrictions.
Grips are brown molded-checkered plastic with RG medallions, providing a secure hold on the short 1.75-inch barrel configuration.
