This M&P9 is the first-generation full-size configuration with a 4.25-inch barrel, rear-only slide serrations, and a pronounced beavertail. The slide is marked "CAPABLE OF FIRING WITH MAGAZINE REMOVED," consistent with early-production features. Both the stainless slide and barrel receive a Melonite treatment for a uniform black finish.
Controls and handling features include ambidextrous slide-stop levers, a reversible magazine release, and the S&W sear deactivation lever that allows takedown without a trigger press. An integral accessory rail on the dust cover supports weapon-mounted lights or similar equipment.
The sighting system pairs a green fiber-optic-style front sight with a steel low-profile rear notch, providing a bright front reference. The frame retains the interchangeable backstrap insert and has a coarse wrap/stipple-style grip texture applied for added purchase.
