Product Description

IBM M1 Carbine .30 Carbine Semi-Auto Rifle, 1943 WWII Production, Early Configuration, Parkerized, 18 inch Barrel

This IBM-manufactured U.S. M1 Carbine is a 1943 WWII production example with early configuration features. It is marked "U.S. CARBINE CAL. 30 M1" and "I.B.M.

CORP." on the receiver and retains correct early components including a Type I narrow barrel band without bayonet lug, a flip-type rear sight, a GI two-rivet handguard, and a low-wood stock with an oval sling cut and oiler slot. The aftermarket Pachmayr White Line ventilated recoil pad reflects a period sporterizing touch, and the bore is clean with sharp rifling.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Very good condition, showing only light, superficial signs of prior handling or use.

Bore Overall Condition: Excellent - Clean, mirror finish, no signs of wear.

Bore Rifling: Excellent Rifling - Sharp lands and grooves.

Specific Condition Notes: This firearm is in great shape overall. Minor superficial scratches and small blemishes are present on the exterior surfaces.

    What's Included
    • 1x 15-round detachable steel magazine
    • Leather sling (installed)
    • Pachmayr White Line ventilated recoil pad with spacer stack (installed)

IBM is a less common prime contractor among wartime M1 Carbines, adding collector interest to this example. The receiver ring carries correct IBM markings, and the rifle presents as a 1943 production piece with its early, desirable configuration.

The rifle uses the M1 Carbine's classic gas-operated, short-stroke piston system with a rotating bolt. It has an 18 inch barrel and a parkerized finish on its steel receiver and components, delivering a clean, uniform appearance consistent with U.S. GI carbines.

Sighting is period-correct with a protected blade front sight secured by a cross-pin and a flip-type aperture rear sight in the receiver dovetail. The GI two-rivet wood handguard and hardwood low-wood stock with oval sling cut and oiler slot are consistent with early wartime furniture.

An aftermarket Pachmayr White Line ventilated recoil pad with a spacer stack is installed in place of the GI buttplate, providing a measured 13.5 inch length of pull. A leather sling is installed, and the rifle includes one 15-round detachable steel magazine for a 15+1 capacity.
