The SCAR 16S uses a short-stroke gas piston and rotating bolt, paired with a 16.25-inch barrel and a factory FN-marked PWS/FN FSC556 flash-suppressing compensator (brake/comp). Its monolithic aluminum upper provides a continuous, T-marked Picatinny top rail, with additional accessory rail sections at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock on the forend for mounting lights, grips, or other accessories.
Factory folding iron sights are included, with a folding front sight at the gas block and a folding rear aperture sight. The charging handle is left-side and reciprocating, while ejection is on the right with a dust cover. A manual safety provides straightforward, proven control.
Ergonomics are a highlight: the stock is side-folding and telescoping with an adjustable cheek riser and rubber buttpad. The rifle carries a consistent Flat Dark Earth finish across the receivers, stock, and grip, contrasted by black/gray hardware.
Markings include FN HERSTAL BELGIUM, FNH USA FREDERICKSBURG VA, and the FN oval logo. The platform accepts STANAG magazines and has a 30+1 capacity; one Magpul PMAG is included.
