This MK IV/Series 70 Gold Cup National Match is a purpose-built bullseye pistol with factory 7+1 capacity in .45 ACP. It uses the classic Government-length 5" setup with a GI-style short guide rod, recoil spring plug, and an in-the-white plug and bushing. Slide rollmarks include COLT'S MK IV/SERIES '70, GOLD CUP NATIONAL MATCH, and .45 AUTOMATIC CALIBER with the Rampant Colt and trophy-cup motif.
The sighting system is set up for precision: a Colt-adjustable target rear with a square notch pairs with a Patridge front blade that features a gold insert for crisp sight definition. Rear slide serrations aid manipulation, and the lowered ejection port supports reliable case clearance.
Construction and finish details reflect Colt's period-correct execution: a carbon-steel frame and receiver with a blued finish, and a slide finished with polished blue flats and matte blue rounds. The pistol retains classic 1911 cues such as the spur hammer and Government-length profile.
Triggering is configured for target work, featuring a wide, lightened, three-hole target trigger with an overtravel adjustment. An OEM Colt wide three-hole target trigger is also included loose, and the pistol wears OEM double-diamond checkered walnut stocks with gold Colt medallions; one additional matching grip panel is included loose. The serial format includes an N as seen in Gold Cup ranges, consistent with this model's lineage.
