The CSX pairs a lightweight aluminum-alloy frame with a stainless slide and barrel, both treated with S&W's black Armornite finish. The slide includes front and rear cocking serrations plus top serrations that reduce glare at the sighting plane. The original slide on this SKU is the non-optics-cut configuration.
Controls are truly ambidextrous, including the manual thumb safeties and the slide stop. The magazine release is reversible, and the flat-faced trigger complements the hammer-fired, single-action-only operating system. The right-side slide marking indicates the pistol is capable of firing with the magazine removed (no magazine disconnect).
Metal, dovetailed three-dot sights (white front and rear) are standard for a durable sight picture. The dustcover is smooth with no accessory rail, maintaining the CSX's compact profile. Textured grip panels and interchangeable backstraps allow simple fit adjustments.
