This Hungarian FEG 48.M Mosin-Nagant carbine is a sporterized, M44-pattern rifle chambered in 7.62x54R with a 20.5 in stepped barrel. It features a no-drill B-SQUARE scout mount with a forward-mounted scope, a custom hardwood stock with a ventilated recoil pad, and a round receiver with a straight bolt handle. The rifle presents a practical carbine-length configuration with a 5+1 capacity and classic blued carbon-steel construction.
Condition
Overall Condition: Fair condition, showing extensive signs of prior use and handling.
Bore Overall Condition: Fair - Generally clean, some residue or smudges, slight corrosion.
Bore Rifling: Fair Rifling - Worn rifling, slight loss of definition.

Built by FEG in Hungary, this 48.M follows the M44-pattern Mosin-Nagant carbine layout with a round receiver, straight bolt handle, and cock-on-open action. It is chambered in 7.62x54R and feeds from a fixed internal magazine with a hinged floorplate, providing a 5+1 capacity.
The 20.5 in carbon-steel barrel has a stepped profile near the muzzle. The front sight is a ramped post set close to the muzzle and is unhooded. The muzzle is not threaded.
This example has been sporterized with a custom hardwood stock featuring a sporter-cut fore-end, a finger groove, and the original side sling slot location in the buttstock filled/plugged (no sling slot present). A Don Maxwell Co. ventilated recoil pad is installed, yielding a 14.0 in length of pull. The upper handguard is absent.
The rear sight has been removed and replaced with a B-SQUARE no-drill scout mount. Weaver USA 1 in rings secure a forward-mounted, scout-style scope in a silver finish. The rifle retains a blued finish over its carbon-steel receiver and barrel.
