The FDR-15 uses a direct-impingement, semi-automatic system on the AR-15 platform, built on 7075-T6 forged aluminum receivers with a durable Type III hard-coat anodized finish. The lower is marked "F-1 FIREARMS • SPRING, TX • FDR-15 • MULTI" and features SAFE/FIRE selector markings (non-ambidextrous). Country of origin is the USA.
Its 16" stainless barrel is threaded and fitted with a birdcage-style flash hider. The chambering is .223 Wylde, accommodating both .223 Remington and 5.56x45 NATO. A flat-top upper receiver includes a forward assist, ejection-port cover, and shell deflector; the upper forging/inspection mark is "A."
A long free-float aluminum handguard provides a continuous 12-o'clock Picatinny rail with extensive lightening ports. No fixed sights are installed. The receiver and rail layout support straightforward mounting of compatible accessories along the top rail.
The carbine wears a collapsible 6-position M4-type stock with a stated length-of-pull range of 10.5"–13.5", paired with an A2-style polymer pistol grip with checkering. Capacity is 30+1 where lawful, and one 30-round polymer magazine is included.
