The 580-series Ranch configuration pairs a blued alloy-steel receiver and 18.5 in tapered barrel with a hardwood stock and ventilated polymer top handguard. The 1:9 RH twist supports common 5.56 NATO/223 Rem bullet weights, and the barrel’s crowned, non-threaded muzzle is built for clean, consistent accuracy.
Its operating system uses a Garand-style rotating bolt with a fixed-piston, short-stroke gas system. Controls and layout are classic Mini-14, and the adjustable ghost-ring rear sight with windage knob works with the protected blade front for fast, durable iron-sight alignment.
True to the Ranch Rifle spec, the receiver has integral scope-ring cuts, and this example includes Ruger factory rings for simple, secure scope mounting. Receiver markings include "MINI-14 5.56 NATO" and "RUGER NEWPORT, NH – USA."
Capacity is 5+1 with the included steel detachable box magazine. Length of pull measures 13.5 in, and the stock adds practical touches like a straight comb, rubber buttpad, and sling swivels.
