This Carry Commander features a forged carbon-steel frame and slide with a satin black oxide finish and a de-horned carry-melt treatment for smooth edges. The Commander-length 4.25 in match-grade stainless steel barrel uses a standard bushing and a 1:16 RH twist.
Grip and handling enhancements include front strap vertical serrations and flat mainspring housing checkering at approximately 25 LPI, a beveled magazine well, and black textured synthetic grips. The pistol retains the classic 1911 single-action, short-recoil, locked-breech operation.
Sight regulation is straightforward with fixed Novak-pattern dovetails: a red fiber-optic front and a plain black rear. The slide adds practical touches such as rear serrations and a lowered, flared ejection port.
Controls are 1911-focused with a beavertail grip safety and an extended left-side thumb safety. The fire-control system includes a skeletonized, three-hole, match-grade aluminum trigger and a skeletonized Commander-style rowel hammer.
Markings are correct for the model, with the slide stamped '1911 R1' and 'CARRY' and the frame marked 'REMINGTON ARMS CO., ILION, NY, USA'. This pistol is Remington mfg. part number 96247 and is made in the United States.
