The 9000S Type F uses a double-action/single-action system with a short-recoil, locked-breech, tilting barrel. The Type F lever functions as both a manual safety and a decocker, paired with an external spurred hammer for confident control of the firing modes.
Construction emphasizes durability and handling. The slide is steel with a Bruniton finish, while the barrel features a chrome-plated bore and chrome-plated chamber. The frame is glass-fiber-reinforced polymer with rubber over-molding, complemented by textured polymer grips bearing Beretta trident medallions. A left-side button magazine release and a lanyard ring round out the controls and carry features.
Sight picture is provided by fixed 3-dot, dovetailed, replaceable sights—blade front with a white dot and a notch rear with two white dots—on a 5.20 in sight radius. The open-top slide includes a top witness port. Overall length is 6.61 in, with an approximate unloaded weight of 26.8 oz.
This compact 9×19mm model carries 15+1 capacity and includes both compact-length and extended-length steel magazines. Italian proof marks and a Beretta U.S.A. Corp., Accokeek, MD import mark are present. Design elements are Giugiaro-influenced, reflecting the model’s place in Beretta’s transition to modern service-caliber polymer frames.
