The SA-08 uses a gas-operated, semi-automatic action with Weatherby's dual interchangeable piston system (Light/Heavy), allowing the shooter to match the gas piston to the load. It features a cross-bolt safety positioned at the rear of the trigger guard, a 2+1 capacity, and right-side ejection.
The 28" field barrel has a ventilated rib and a fiber-optic front bead for clear target indexing. Its 3" chamber accepts both 2 3/4" and 3" shells, and the screw-in choke system accepts a range of constrictions to cover common field and range needs.
Ergonomics are anchored by a 14.0" length of pull, molded checkering for a steady grip, and a ventilated recoil pad. Sling swivel studs are installed at the magazine cap and buttstock, ready for a sling.
The black synthetic stock and forend pair with a matte black finish for low glare. Markings include "Weatherby Paso Robles, CA" and "Made in Turkey," reflecting its Turkish manufacture with Weatherby import markings.
