The XT configuration centers on a 5-inch, heavy-profile, bushingless barrel and a long slide that together deliver a long sight radius. The dust cover is extended and features a circular relief cut at the muzzle. There is no accessory rail on this model.
The action is semi-automatic, DA/SA, and hammer-fired with a short-recoil, locked-breech Browning-type tilting barrel system. Controls include a decocker/safety lever and a firing pin block. An external ring-style hammer and front and rear slide serrations complete the operating features.
Sighting is handled by a red fiber-optic front and a fully adjustable LPA rear sight with windage and elevation screws and index marks. This setup is recognized for IPSC Production Division use as the TPR9 XT.
