This Springfield Armory XD Mod.2 Service Model 4.0 in 9mm Luger pairs a striker-fired system with both a trigger safety and a grip safety, offering a full-size platform with user-friendly controls. It features factory fiber-optic sights, an ambidextrous magazine release, and an integral 2-slot accessory rail. The pistol comes with four 16-round stainless steel magazines and the original factory case, and is made in Croatia. Overall condition is very good with an excellent bore.
The Mod.2 Service Model 4.0 configuration delivers a balanced, duty-length setup with a 4-inch steel barrel and 16+1 capacity. The polymer frame features the Mod.2 GRIP ZONE ergonomics, and this example has an aftermarket adhesive grip wrap installed over the side panels, frontstrap, and backstrap for added traction, while the ambidextrous magazine release supports left- or right-handed use. The combination of a striker-fired action with a grip safety is a defining element of this XD series.
The matte black slide includes front and rear cocking serrations, rear traction pads, and an external extractor. Sighting is quick and intuitive thanks to the factory fiber-optic system: a red fiber-optic front paired with a low-profile green fiber-optic rear notch.
An integral 2-slot accessory rail on the dust cover supports common weapon-mounted lights or accessories. The full-size format, steel barrel, and polymer frame make this an easy-handling service pistol configured for 9mm Luger.
Manufactured in Croatia, this example retains a clean presentation with a bright, sharp-rifled bore. The frame bears the factory serial number that matches the supplied number.
Condition
Overall Condition: Very good condition, showing only light, superficial signs of prior handling or use.
Bore Overall Condition: Excellent - Clean, mirror finish, no signs of wear.
Bore Rifling: Excellent Rifling - Sharp lands and grooves.
Specific Condition Notes: There are some markings from previous handling and use. An aftermarket adhesive grip wrap is installed over the factory grip surfaces. The bore is bright and clean. Please refer to the pictures for details.
