The SP5 uses HK’s roller-delayed blowback, semiautomatic system and a stamped-steel receiver, delivering the classic MP5-pattern feel in a factory German pistol. Controls include an ambidextrous selector and both paddle-style and push-button magazine releases, along with the left-side MP5-pattern charging handle with locking notch.
The 8.86 in barrel features the HK 3-lug interface and 1/2x28 threading with a thread protector. Its 6-groove, right-hand twist and excellent bore condition support precise performance. The slim polymer forearm maintains the traditional profile.
Sighting is handled by a protected hooded front post and an adjustable rotary rear drum, paired with a 10.2 in sight radius. The receiver has welded scope-mount tabs, and there are sling loops at the front and rear.
Dimensions and weight are practical for a full-size pistol configuration, with an overall length of 17.8 in and an unloaded weight of approximately 5.1 lb.
