This Model 77R reflects the early Ruger tang-safety design, combining a controlled, classic layout with the power of 7mm Rem. Mag. The R configuration denotes the factory setup for scope use without iron sights, and this example retains the Ruger integral dovetail bases machined into the receiver.
The 24-inch sporter-contour barrel and blued finish provide a traditional, streamlined profile. Feeding is via an internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate, offering a 3+1 capacity in this long-action magnum chambering.
The walnut stock presents cut checkering for grip, a black grip cap, Ruger eagle medallion, red recoil pad with spacer, and sling swivel studs. Length of pull measures 13.75 inches, delivering a comfortable, straightforward fit on the shoulder.
Ruger’s bright-polished bolt body with a round bolt knob complements the clean lines of the action. The tang-mounted safety is in keeping with the period-correct Model 77 layout and is matched here with the original 77R rings-only configuration.
