This AR-15 pattern pistol pairs a Geissele Automatics SD-556 Super Duty lower with a PSA JAKL 10.5 inch 5.56 NATO monolithic, side-charging, gas-piston upper. The JAKL features an internal recoil system, rear 1913 rail endcap, a continuous 1913 Picatinny top rail, and no forward assist. The configuration includes an ambidextrous safety, a B5 Systems grip, an M-LOK handguard with an angled foregrip/hand stop, and a three-prong flash hider, all finished in tan.
This is a non-OEM upper/lower pairing. The lower uses a standard AR-15 bolt catch, while JAKL uppers are designed around a proprietary bolt catch. As a result, the bolt release requires a firm press to drop the bolt, and the bolt locks to the rear when it is pulled fully to the rear. These characteristics are specific to this pairing and noted for user awareness.
