What’s Included
- DWM Modelo Argentino 1909 Cavalry Carbine chambered in 7.65x53mm Mauser
Built by DWM in Berlin for the Argentine contract, this carbine is marked with the national crest on the receiver ring and the complete DWM maker’s legend. These markings, along with the observed matching receiver and bolt serials, give the rifle strong, verifiable provenance.
It uses the large-ring Mauser 98 action with controlled-round feed, a third safety lug, and a gas-shielded bolt shroud. The turned-down bolt with a round knob complements the fixed 5-round internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate, designed for charger (stripper-clip) loading. A 3-position flag safety tops off the classic M98 feature set.
The 21.5 in barrel and compact cavalry layout are paired with a full-length walnut stock, straight grip, steel buttplate, and a short upper handguard. The carbine’s sling configuration includes a left-side butt sling bar and a left-side band loop. An enclosed nose cap with protective ears and no external bayonet lug is characteristic of this pattern. Length of pull measures 13.0 in.
Iron sights include a tangent rear sight with a sliding cursor and a front blade protected by ears. The receiver and barrel wear a blued finish, while the bolt remains bright in the white. Additional inspection and acceptance monograms further document its military acceptance and service lineage.
