This Sentry 12 is a detachable-magazine, pump-action shotgun designed to accept both 2.75 in and 3 in shells. It uses an 18.5 in nitride-finished smoothbore barrel and lists an overall length of approximately 36 in with an unloaded weight of about 6.5 lb.
The upper receiver is a monolithic extruded-aluminum unit (6160 series), paired with a polymer lower and furniture. It wears a fixed, skeletonized polymer stock with a 12.0 in length of pull, an AR-style polymer pistol grip with molded grooves, and a solid, ribbed polymer pump forend (non-ventilated); the slotted/vented piece is the aluminum upper/handguard shroud.
Controls are user-friendly and mirrored side to side, including an ambidextrous magazine release and ambidextrous safety. Up top, a full-length 12 o'clock Picatinny rail spans roughly 17 in. There are no factory iron sights.
Field servicing is aided by a hand-tightened barrel nut for quick barrel swaps and two captive crosspins at the upper–lower interface (front and rear). Receiver markings read "BLACKWATER CONCORD, NC SENTRY 12 12 GAUGE," and the included magazines are factory units marked "IRON HORSE FIREARMS SENTRY 12."
