Built on a mid-1944 Springfield Armory receiver, this rifle was rebuilt through the Civilian Marksmanship Program with documented CMP parts and markings. The receiver retains the correct heel legend, and the rifle is finished in a uniform Parkerized finish over its steel receiver and USGI pattern components.
The 24-inch Criterion (CBI) replacement barrel is dated 05/2024 and marked with its 1:10 twist and six-groove rifling. This modern CBI tube provides correct .30-06 chambering while preserving the classic M1 profile and handling.
Furniture is CMP replacement hardwood with an oil finish and a boxed CMP cartouche. Hardware details include a CMP-marked gas cylinder lock, a Springfield Armory-marked bolt, and a Winchester-marked trigger guard tang component. The buttplate is checkered steel.
Sighting is via the standard protected front blade and a micrometer-adjustable, non–lock-bar rear sight set with T105E1-style knobs. The rifle feeds from 8-round en-bloc clips, and the gas system uses the M1’s gas-operated, rotating-bolt, semi-automatic action.
Additional USGI pattern features include the integral bayonet lug on the gas cylinder, stacking and sling swivels, and a 13.0-inch length of pull. Markings are comprehensive for verification: the receiver heel legend, CBI barrel data, SA bolt number, WRA trigger guard tang stamp, CMP-marked lock, and the boxed CMP stock cartouche.
