It retains its blued steel finish with the bolt and cocking sleeve left in the white, and it bears an import stamp on the barrel reading "K31 7.5x55 SWISS." The rifle is chambered in 7.5x55mm Swiss with a 25.7-inch barrel and a detachable 6-round magazine, pairing Swiss military design with practical field features.

Manufactured by Waffenfabrik Bern in 1939, this K31 represents the Swiss pre-WWII refinement of the straight-pull service carbine. It uses a front-locking straight-pull action renowned for fast cycling, with the bolt body and cocking sleeve left in the white against the blued steel receiver and barrel.
The rifle measures approximately 43.5 inches overall with a 25.7-inch steel barrel and a 12.5-inch length of pull. It wears a hardwood stock with grasping grooves and a separate hardwood top handguard. Left-side sling swivels are fitted, and a leather sling is installed.
Feeding is via a detachable double-column, center-feed 6-round steel magazine for a 6+1 capacity. A paddle-style magazine release is provided, and a charger/stripper-clip guide is integral to the receiver for rapid loading when desired.
The iron sights include a drift-adjustable square front post (unhooded) and a tangent rear ladder graduated from 100 to 1500 meters. The front band incorporates a stacking rod and a bayonet lug, and a Swiss K31 clamp-on muzzle protector cap is included. Factory markings include the Swiss cross-in-shield crest on the receiver top and the barrel import stamp "K31 7.5x55 SWISS."
