This first-gen M&P9 is the full-size, no-thumb-safety configuration in 9mm Luger. It uses a striker-fired, short-recoil, locked-breech system and ships with two 10-round magazines for a 10+1 capacity. Controls include an ambidextrous slide stop and a reversible magazine release.
The slide and barrel are stainless steel with a black Melonite treatment. An integral three-slot Picatinny accessory rail is molded into the frame for mounting compatible lights or accessories. The slide wears rear fish-scale serrations and has no front serrations.
Ergonomics are a strong point with interchangeable palmswell backstraps and a pronounced beavertail. This example adds a custom stipple job on the grip for extra purchase. Sights consist of a red fiber-optic front and a plain black rear that deliver a crisp sight picture.
Service-friendly touches include a chamber witness hole and the sear-deactivation lever that allows disassembly without pulling the trigger. This pistol is identified by S&W MFG Part Number 109201 and was made in the USA. It comes with its factory case and documentation.
