The SP5K-PDW is a semi-automatic, German-made member of HK's SP5 series with the compact K-pattern format. It uses a stamped-steel receiver, a polymer grip frame, and a K-pattern ribbed polymer handguard with an integral hand stop. Import markings and proof stamps include CIP N, DE/HK, and HK Inc. Columbus, GA, with "Made in Germany" present.
HK's roller-delayed blowback action and a fluted chamber support reliable function with 9mm Luger. Controls are user-friendly, featuring an ambidextrous safety and an ambidextrous paddle-style magazine release. A left-side charging handle delivers the familiar HK manual of arms, and the lower is the semi-only pictogram style.
